Finch is a California native who started playing softball at age five. Doug Finch was Jennie's first pitching coach. Jennie was the first to use the Finch Windmill when she was 10. The year 2001 was the year her Wildcats team won the title of National Champion, and again in 2002 she received with the Honda Award for the best softball player in the United States.
