Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her professional name Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. It was here that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded her music on the internet in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013, five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. On July 21st, 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs to the Dreamville Team in the following year as he wanted Rihanna to work together on a few references. She was officially signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is a song that she recorded with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. In October 21st, 2016, her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing as part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening artist. In 2018, she went on to be a guest on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video was later released in September. Then on the 9th of November she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Then, on November 13 the singer released two new singles titled One and Pdigree. One or Pdigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same name. The song, released with a video posted on YouTube on February 20, 2019, has been viewed over three million times over the first 7 days. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
